Anyone had any experiance of adding an Action only to their FAC?
I'm just wondering how to word the request for my next variation.
Thanks.

I added a barrel, just asked for it to be added and paid the money for the variation. I later converted it to a rifle as it was a 'spare' slot as far as my FEO was concerned. I would assume it was the same for an action.

Mmmm....I'm going to have to think through this varitation and word it correctly otherwise it could get a bit confusing! :G Chanaging rifle calibres, action for bulding a rifle etc.

Through personal experience of standing and listening to two members from my own FET discussing the problem of bringing in components from the USA and then building a rifle from them, it was clear that everyone has a different take on the subject.
I would recommend that you speak with your own FET, get a name and go with what they recommend. If possible in writing,
Good luck,
DM

Fortunately, the components are in the UK. Grampian is pretty good, but they have asked me to go easy on them with my requests next time!
It does highlight the hoops we have to jump through!

I have done this. They went on the FAC as Qty 2, calibre .308", make Musgrave, type Rifle Action, ser nos 1970 and 1971. HM Customs were fine about them on the way in from SA, Surrey police were equally fine. Some time later I transferred them to a friendly RFD who fitted barrels etc and transferred them back to me as complete rifles. Simples!
