ok I have suddenly got this slot that needs to be filled

My initial thoughts

Legal requirements
.22LR & BOLT
Threaded for MOD or threadable

MY REQUIREMENTS
Accurate
Great trigger
Non Wood Stock
Iron sights (as backup / alternate use)

USE
Indoor club use 25m etc
Some plinking up to 100 or 200m

BUDGET
Determined by how much the wife likes it :-)

IDEA'S
Guntrader showed some promise with some Savage or Browning options

But frankly my exposure to .22LR brands and models here is NON EXISTENT

Advice

CZ452 hits most of the criteria. Depends on what model you get as to whether it has iron sights. Also it has a wood stock and the trigger will need a little work. Otherwise its very accurate, well made, loads of parts available. This would be my choice, although it doesn't have iron sights, it is threaded.



Savage Mark 2 TRR-SR .22LR rifle

Instead of irons, you could put a red-dot on. :-P

I shot a friends .22 Savage, I can't remember the model but the Laminate thumbhole stock and it was fantastic, very smooth action and those Accutriggers are great.

Not only do they produce excellent rifles, their company history is long and glorious.

may be better served by a CZ 452 - LOTS around at very cheap prices as many folk dropped .22 when the .17 rimfires were brought out.
Drop them into a Manners stock - or one of many other brands & you are good to go

CZ gets my vote

hiya,+1 for the cz,i run two of them,one in.22 and the .17 hmr,little .22 is very acurate,need,s the trigger sorted though,kit,s available for about £12,mine is the style version,mate has the blued version,and both have had thousands of round,s through them and never miss a beat,or lose acuracy,(thats the numb bit on the end),it,s the one rifle i own that will not be sold,way to much fun,wether paper or game,here is a pick of her in her new stock,with her big sister,the howa 1500 in 204,cz is the nearest,,ian

I was getting V Bulls and Bulls at 200yds today on Century with a Sako Finnfire Range! Had to aim with the third MilDot down from the crosshairs though!
