Hi All,
Who wants to go

SOON.
I am new here and noticed the lack of upcoming shooting days.
Unfortunately NRA's two days a month are not sufficient.
Who's interested and when....
Admins can we setup a calendar in the forum? sign92

Lets see if we can get this as a sticky and a regular thing so forum members heading off to Bisley and other ranges can post something up. Same goes for a calendar, not sure if the forum software supports it however it is well worth investigating.

Good idea.
I'd like to get some Bisley shooting in, been to Bisley a few times, only shot there once - had no idea what I was doing.
Would be nice to get together with some FB-UK'ers and do it propa-like

First couple of trips to Bisley can be daunting if you are on your own, and there are lots of interesting little rules you need to be aware of so well worth going with someone who can show you the ropes and point out any potential pitfalls.

Wait until you shoot from the wrong side of the peg, drive your car too the wrong place or settle down with your newly purchased rifle complete with muzzle brake. Also some shooters will play on your lack of knowledge, I had someone play merry hell with me because I was shooting off the right hand bench on Short Siberia 100m firing point and his club members were shooting prone to the right, this put them forward of me by a few feet.
Luckily John from the range office came down and told the other shooters to STFU, well something like that but more diplomatically. The Bisley Bible is well worth getting and reading, it covers all sorts of things and is constantly updated by IainR of this forum amongst others. It explains things like safe angles and distances between you and shooters forward of you shooting on the same range which can be quite disconcerting when you first see it happen.

i got a taste of that last saturday
i was in siberia 100 yards position 7 prone and had 5 &6 empty next to me they were shooting from the Bench .. so for safety 2 slots apart as i was technically in front of their barrels but far enough to the right ... you just have to keep your brain switched on and mind what you are doing , shooting and walking...

A perfect example, it could be very easy to become engrossed in something, get up from position 7 and take the shortest route back to the covered section which is a diagonal path if you are not concentrating. We are effectively our own RCO's and need to be vigilant at all times.
