At SHOT Show, Accuracy International (AI) unveiled a new line of pistol-grip skins that will allow owners of the AE and AW rifles to match the ergonomics of the pistol grip on AI’s new AX rifles. This “skins” bolt on to the underlying AI chassis system, providing a new look from fore-arm to buttplate. We expect these new skins will be hugely popular among AI shooters, many of whom will ditch their old thumbhole skins and bolt on the new pistol grip models. Availability is unknown at this point, but pricing will be in line with AI’s other skins.

No mention of AICS skins, and it is not clear to me if the new skins will take that cage thing that extends over the barrel. It appears to be all about the pistol grip, which will appeal to some. I can not help thinking that if you have a AE or AW, and have spent that kind of money, you must be happy with the grip that you already have.
Perhaps it is for those who want a fresh look or are trying to keep up with the Joneses'

As ive said before the old AICS/AW stock whilst being a fantastic platform was uncomfortable for me and others to shoot only because of the grip arrangment, ive shot the new AX and its much better and i can get a very comfortable trigger finger position.

I know the Viperskins have been around a while so i guess AI figured they'd better in on the act.

Blimey, AI were slow to get off the mark - difficult to tell them apart, how much are the Viper skins?

Looking at the side-by-side photo of thumbhole and pistol grip stocks in DM's link, I'm not sure why they ever bothered with the thumbhole stock.

I thought I wanted an AICS until I actually tried one and found it very uncomfortable, is there any advantage to the thumbhole stock over a pistol grip stock?
