Pietta PPS-50
Thinking ahead to when I sell my Henry L/A , I was wondering about a replacement 22LR. I haven't fully decided what I want, be it some sort of single shot target rifle or a Semi-Auto.
Having a look at the Semi Auto's I was getting bored with the sameness of the market, that is until I saw this the Pietta PPS-50
With a 30rd mag
and the 50rd drum
Has anybody had any experiance of these or seen them on the range? I've seen some vid's and the drum mags seem reliable, but from what I understand the 10 and 30rd mags are the best. Unfortunately, I can only find the drum mags for sale.
It seems Henry Kranks is the official Pietta importer for the UK, so contacting them might be worthwhile.
Any thoughts?

That's what I thought too!
The vid is from the shop in the UK that stocks the 50rd drums

Re: Pietta PPS-50
Impressive shooting / accuracy for rapid shooting , could be a handy tool for minirifle with that mag .

Re: Pietta PPS-50
I've shot the gun in the video and although my group was nothing like Andy's it put a big grin on my face. The 50 round mag didn't seem fussy at all but then they rarely do when you're indoors on the range. It's when you get outside in the crud that issues show up.
As I recall, my opinion at the time was that if I didn't already have a 10-22 for practical shooting already I would have been very tempted. With the 50 round mag and a 30 for backup you'd be good to go. The only down side I could see is that you wouldn't be able to tweak it the way you can a 10-22.

That's good to know, especially as I'm not interested in tweaking.

What's the street price, Grant?
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

I've seen S/H ones at £200/250 mark and new @ £475 with the 50 rd drum.
