He does go on a bit but the principle is good, worth watching or at least skimming to the end.

Years ago when decapping berdan primers was the only way you could get brass for some calibres I tried using the press leverage to decap with water and the dowel rod, it worked just as good as whacking the dowel with a hammer. However whacking with a hammer was better for me as I didn't like getting water all over my press and reloading area. I could use the dowel and a block of wood with a hole in it in the sink and found it far more user friendly.

Then the Hydro Punch came along. :good: :grin:

I use the whack it with a hammer and dowel in the garden approach as well.
