2 stage trigger for Musgrave

I am looking for a 2 stage trigger for my Musgrave 7.62. It is difficult to squeeze (or pull!) 1.5 kg while maintaining aim. Any suggestions welcome.

Having rarely used a single stage trigger (on a Witchita) I have to say that it really did help me to get my position right (too loose) and only squeeze the trigger when the sight picture and hold was correct, releasing the pressure if the sight picture or wind changed.

Unless the pull and sear engagement is compromised I'd suggest double checking how good your position and hold are.

I don't mean to be negative in anyway but sometimes we can blame our kit over our process and still get errors. Buying new things can be sooooooo easy

I came to fullbore via smallbore where I am used to a 2 stage trigger, I thought that the less difference between the disciplines the better. I can shoot okay as it is, I managed to be in the mid 60's place in the Daily Telegraph, at my first Imperial meeting last year, but I am always looking for improvement!! I will take on board you comment, I am certainly not rushing to change

I know where you are coming from in terms of keeping things as similar as possible. I too came from a predominantly smallbore background but when I was concentrating most it and occasionally having a bang with fullbore I had facility of the witchita and when I used it realised how much I could flinch trying to pull a heavier trigger as well as 'helping' the trigger by tightening my shoulder.

Going back to a 2 stage wasn't much of a problem but its easy to expect too much from our trigger control if it isn't quite as good as we want it.

The RPA triggers are good from what I hear and would love to try one if I ever had enough money to buy the Gold trigger and shoot and live and eat! (eating is always optional I guess )

I've had this bookmark for ages; only because he supplies his triggers for the Angle rifle which is my TR. I don't know if they are any good.

HPS quoted me £200 for a Davis trigger, I don't know if they are good or not.

Just a quick suggestion. We shoot our musgraves (target) with mostly one stage 1.5 kg triggers. It isn't fabulous, but the trick is quite simple. Do a few dry-fire rounds and get better hang of it. What I eventually end up doing, squeezing 3/4 while being on the target and once it's spot-on I pull the remaining way of the trigger (steadily but fast). We're currently getting rid of 3 of our Musgraves. I don't know about the triggers they have, but I could check it if you want.
