Measuring Bullet Bearing Surface

Hi All

Question about measuring bullet bearing surface.

I have bought, weighed and now measured several hundred Berger and Lapua bullets.
I am VERY impressed by the overall quality of the bullets - the weight differential is less than 0.6g out of 300 bullets
:good:

My question is what is the realistic measurement parameters since I still dont have the Ovenpaa/Spud device :shifty: (HINT)
I am using the Hornady Comparator with a digital dial caliper

In this case, for example, I partioned the bullets in .0004in segments

Like < 0.3740 0.3741 to 5 : then 0.3746 Plus

Any more and I get too few bullets and I doubt any real benefits
- any more time spent is better used to earn more money to be able to shoot more!
:0037:

Any advice comments confirmations?

I have most of the parts to make another four (No DTI's at the moment) the new version has a revised design if you are interested and Spud does not have any in stock yet. I will need sample bullets to suit.

Sure, let me know how many and the bullet sizes, I may need sample bullets if it is something I do not use.
