OOo you got another goodn mate , nice stock and war dated.
Without hijacking your thread just got this from C&G, you name it he's got it !
Its a Tula 1928 CCCP marked ex-dragoon like your 1925. Reciever tang had a nice tula hammer and a 28 + chunkier pre war stock so I snapped it up.
Can't get enough of the ruski guns !

This new stock seems to be in very good condition.
I have the amount my FLO will allow in 54r I dare not ask for anymore. This would be his reply
When are you doing a vid of it and what distance.
Whats the tang date got to be an early one ?

I will hopefully be shooting ETR on Thursday, depending on what 54r I have I should be knocking targets down 50- 300.
Not sure what you mean by the tang ?

Edit, stock is war/postwar would say latter, has the finger grooves at the front behind rear band - need to find a cccp stock (one day!)

Hi dirtbag.
I will try to explain.....Tang...
Turn the rifle over there are 2 screws from the trigger guard that screw up into the rear of the reveiver one in front, and one to the rear of the trigger. The one to the rear screws up into the Tang, when you remove the wood there should be a stamp and date, on the under side of the tang. See my third picture down Star (tula) + what looks like a 4 & 2 Receiver dated 42 Barrel dated 1942 ie matched rifle :shakeshout:
Hope that helps....
Neil

Hi Neil many thanks for your explanation. I ddint make myself clear so apologies, I already looked at the tang before I purchased it and mine had the tula hammer (pre 1929/30) and 28 so that would be correct is mine is a tula 28
As sad as I am, I am nickamed by chris as "Mr Purist" and I will live up to it by getting all the parts with the tula hammer, as I have some with the star and Izzy. I have found a 1930 stock with Tula star cartouche so I may get that because a tula with CCCP was only faintly put in, so be long gone now

Mr Purist, it is from now on then
Nice a 1928 91/30.
One of my other tula's has an earlier tang date to the barrel, which is something the Russians did by re using old receivers if still serviceable,
with new barrels and re issued them...
What parts have the izzy marks? They were most likely changed during refurb. It's normal to find barrel bands, trigger guard/mag bases, even bolt parts, from the other arsenal, as they had to move the Tula factory due to invasion they used any available parts to build rifles.
Good shooting on Thursday, 50m is a bit close
