Accomodation for The Phoenix 2012

LMRA have just been in touch to say that there is no rooms available at St Georges Lodges for the Phoenix. Didn't say it was fully booked, just they had no rooms for our party.

They have offered rooms in the LMRA Clubhouse which are cheap but sound pretty basic.

Can any Bisley regulars suggest where the next best accommodation is on the Camp?

Not stayed there but I love the ambiance of the place.

Mike

You're correct the rooms at the LMRA club house are pretty basic, just a bed and set of drawers however most places on camp are fairly similar.

You could try Canada house, the rooms are a little bit nicer but its still shared ablutions etc.

I think the Dolphins up by the RAF club are a bit like St Georges but I don't know who runs them, try ringing the NRA and speaking to the accomodations lady.

I thought they did!?
Last time I was there I asked my pal and he said they did accommodation so maybe we are both wrong. Sorry about that, but the food and bar are fine.
Might be worth phoning them to be sure.
Good luck finding something there, L & M are not very salubrious now I'm afraid.

Whatever you do, dont accept the offer of the "bungalow" next door to the L and M.

Its only £20 per night, and i wouldn,t let my dog sleep in it. We were unfortunate to book it at the nationals. The last night, i awoke to hear scrabbling noises, and upon switching on a torch, was pleased to see a rat ,sat on the floor having a wash.

If you cant get in St George's or Canada, your best bet is to stop off camp, there is nothing else fit to use on camp.

This subject will be the downfall of Bisley. If someone had the foresight at the NRA to sell off a small piece, just big enough to build a travelodge on...they would get killed in the rush with extra visitors.....all spending money.

Not rocket science is it ?
