Okay, so I have a friend that doesnt really live close enough to frequent the smallbore club that I go to, so sure he could sign up to an associated club elsewhere, but basically, to dip his toe in the water I'm confused as to whats involved.
my understanding would be as he doesnt have NRA competency certificate, he couldn't shoot on a MOD range, but not being a member of a club, he can't get his competency cert.
I'm not sure, but I don't think that my full-bore county club (who i generally shoot with) do open days (i could be wrong).
I wanna bring him along and let him have a go, I know he'll get hooked and I'll have another friend to bring shooting, but I don't know how to get his foot in the door... the route I went isn't really viable for a one-time shoot (join smallbore club with NRA affilliation, get full membership, get NRA competency Cert, shoot with county full-bore club).
Any advice appreciated.

You would take him on a club guest day, not having the certificate he would need to be supervised by one who has at all times when shooting.

Ah Right, its that simple?
I would be giving him 1 on 1 supervision regardless to be honest, so thats not a problem.
I'll have to get in touch with the club and see if the next shoot is a guest day (and if not, why not, we get 12 per year as I recall) :)
