NRA Notices 24th November 2011
2012 GB Captaincy
Nominations are invited for the post of Captain for the 2012 GB Sporting Rifle Team to Norway. Nominations should be sent to the Secretary General, either by e-mail, secgen@nra.org.uk, or in writing to the address below, to be received no later than 2 December 2011. Further information about the competition is available on request by contacting either chairman@bsrc.co.uk or captain@bsrc.co.uk”
...............................
Target Shotgun Discipline
Target Shotgun has now been recognised as an NRA discipline and there will be an election for a discipline representative in 2012. To be able to vote for any discipline representative, that discipline must be noted on our membership database as your primary discipline. Should you wish to change your primary you can do so by logging onto our website and updating your details, by emailing Sarah Wells on memadmin@nra.org.uk and quoting your membership number or by updating the relevant section on your renewal form which will be with you soon – please do not reply to this email as it will go to the wrong person.
.............................
NRA Journal
We are keen to ensure that regional shooting receives its fair share of coverage in the new and redesigned NRA Journal – but this can only happen if you send in stories, photos and news snippets for inclusion.
Editor James Marchington, at the new publishers Blaze Publishing, welcomes any material or ideas and is happy to rewrite or follow up stories if necessary. Photos are especially welcome, but please keep individual emails to a manageable size (under 10Mb) - large files are best sent via a service such as wetransfer.com
Contact James by email at jamesm@blazepublishing.co.uk, telephone 01926 339808, or mobile 07836 350652.

Re: NRA Notices 24th November 2011
Not the best of starts regarding Blaze Publishing, I have emailed them several times and so far only one reply...actually I got a reply because I emailed the NRA asking them if they knew why Blaze was not responding...so the NRA must have nudged them.

Re: NRA Notices 24th November 2011

What is 'Target Shotgun'?

Re: NRA Notices 24th November 2011
Vince,
The Blue Team run a Target Shotgun comp alongside the quarterly Gallery Rifle comps at Bisley, you will probably recognise the courses from the pistol days and are very similar to Police Pistol 1 and Timed and precision 1 comps - a combination of accuracy and speed with turning targets at 10 to 30 yards.
Also there is a longer distance course of fire that we are not involved with,
100 & 200 Yards Target Shotgun
Targets
1 x Wessex target at 100 yards
1 x PS10 target at 200 yards
Ammunition Type
Solid Slug / Ball only
Sights
Any
Positions
Standing unsupported at 100 yards
Sitting or Kneeling at 200 yards
Ready Position
Parallel
Course of Fire
This event is shot at 100 yards and 200 yards
This event takes approximately 90 minutes to complete
It requires 24 rounds
The maximum possible score is 150
Practise 1
100 yards 12 shots standing un-supported
2 compulsory sighting shots individually marked back
2 strings of 5 shots each in 30 seconds
Practise 2
200 yards 12 shots sitting or kneeling
2 compulsory sighting shots individually marked back
1 string of 10 shots in 12 minutes
Should you be interested in more detail you do know the lead Husband and Wife team who are the main people behind this,
