Hi all,
I would like your views on Federal brass! are they good cases and is it worth buying them to reload?
thanks

I have some Fed .308 brass that has been shot 7-8 times and was still going strong when I retired it. My view is the brass 'feels' nicer than Lapua.

I don't like it. I had too many primer pockets go slack after only a couple of firings.

Odd you should say that, I picked up some factory loaded 180 Federal in DK when we were over last and one of them popped a primer however it was raining at the time and that is all I could attribute it to, wet fingers and a wet chamber.

If you're buying new brass there isn't much difference between good brass and OK brass - so buy Lapua.
If someone is GIVING you some new Federal brass - accept it and say thank you!

Used to be, in the good old days, that Federal was the best brass in pistol calibres.

When i first started reloading i followed advice and bought federal (308) and lapua (243). I wish i'd only bought Lapua as the primer pockets on the federal brass went slacker than an old whore's knickers after only a couple of firings.
