How long do you take to reload?

I sat down today to reload some .303, I have a reloading tray that seats 50 cartridges, so that's normally the amount I reload in one sitting.

I have an O-frame, single-stage press, so I have to swap each die out in turn.

So the process of:

Cleaning the cases with water and wire wool
Full resizing and de-priming
Trimming the brass
Re-priming
Setting and weighing the power thrower
Charging all cases
Seating bullets

... took me just over 4 hours! Ok, I've only been reloading for about 6 months, but surely that's slow even for a noob.

And I only ended up reloading 48 cartridges, 2 of the cases had mis-shaped primer holes so I binned them.

So, am I slow, or is that normal speed for a new reloader and a single-stager?

if im doing match ammo ill take an hour to do 20 if its foxing amo i can do 40 an hour

i only use an arbor press for both but i use a run out gauge on all match ammo this is why it takes longer

To do every stage I would say thats about right , I tend to do mine bits at a time when I can rather than in one hit .

Im by no means fast,but...

Cleaning is easy.I stick the already reprimed 303 cases inside a woolly hiking sock and put the whole lot in the washing machine with my clothes. After 1.5 hours the brass comes out shinier than shiny new brass thing then leave on a bright windowsil to fully dry.

Then re-necksize the 40x cases,trim,de-burr,re-prime,charge and insert bullet takes me around an hour or so-depending on how many times i go downstairs for coffee.

 Does that really work?

I kinda want to try that. Doesn't all the cack on the cases ruin your clothes, though?
