Has anyone tried Berger 175 gn OTM bullets in .308? Believe these were designed to be loaded to COL of 2.8" (Std mag length) and be stable through the transonic/sub sonic barrier so could be used for longer ranges.
Expensive, so was wondering if they're worth the extra cost.

These are the new ones that people are talking about, I have read a few reviews but not seen them over here yet. I use 155 Scenar's myself.

I've tried 155's Scenars too and they did shoot very well but had to load them longer than the magazine length to get decent groups.
I think T Hannam has these Bergers in.

I have no experience with the bergers but I have used the 175 sierra match king with a stout load of viht N550 behind it loaded to mag length in my sako TRG with some success.

I have put a few 190SMk's through the AI recently and they worked OK as well, in fact Whiteboy was using them to 1200 a few weeks ago, neither of us expected them to work so we were both pleasantly surprised

I haven't heard of OTM, what does it stand for?
My current load uses 175gn SMKs and I'm now trying out the Berger 175gn Long Range BT with promising results. Both are loaded to 2.8" and work well in my Remington 700 AICS.

What is your N550 load? I've just worked up to 46.4gn with Berger 175gn Long Range BT with no signs of over-pressure and a very promising result with just 45.2gn.

I am using 48.3grains of N550 which is quite a hot load it is safe in my rifle but not necessarily in yours!

Interesting, thanks. Here are the results I got at 100 yards for Extreme Spread, Group Size and distance of group centre from POA. I chose 45.2gn based on Dan Newberry's OCW method, but it looks like there might be another optimum load coming up at around 47.5gn.
