Can't really see how it differs from how other firearms companies operate. Also mexico is known as a corrupt country.

Interesting but i'll treat the story with a pinch of salt. Remember the crap story about Steyr selling 50cal sniper rifles to Iran? Later proved to be total nonesence.

Just think of the money the UK could have saved if we'd been allowed to buy the G36 when offered!

Being next to Mexico I'll add my thoughts on this, Mexico is a corrupt county throughout though the police could probably use some decent rifles to battle the narco traffickers, human rights abuses in Mexico, probably.
Operation Fast and Furious has most Americans appalled, that our Attorney General and Justice Department would facilitate the purchase of weapons by criminal networks in order prove criminal networks can obtain weapons, then allow the shipment of the ill gotten weapons to Mexico without tracking further has infuriated many Americans beyond belief. All this happening while the same Attorney General criticizes our laws that allow law abiding persons to purchase the same weaponry because criminals when they obtain weapons then commit crimes.

Must be rather tricky living on the US side of the Mexican border.

This just in - the UK is under investigation for trying to sell batches of SA80s to Iran, Mexico and Afghanistan.

Officials from all three countries contacted the UK parties involved and are quoted to say "thanks, but we'd like something better, you keep 'em"
