Anybody ever been to Europe to go pistol shooting? I would like to look into the logistics of having a weekend away to shoot pistols, revolvers and anything else that was legal?

Mike 357,
The nearest place for you is Noth of France ot Normandy!!!
I know some clubs north ere welcoming, but I do not have the details.
I am sure other clubs would welcome you and arrange for you to use their club pistols and ammo at cost.
My local range (small 25 to 200 metres, 2kms from hoome) is part of a larger club and is frequented by a bunch of friendly british residents. This should make things easy for you and I offer to ensure the eventual initial contact. PM me for adresses eventually.
The main club instalaltion in Alencon receive Jersey shooters on regulat basis, and we used few years ago to receive also silhouette pistol shooters from UK.

There was a club in Northern Ireland that offered "guest days" for pistol shooters from the mainland, but for the life of me, I can't remember where....
Any NI members shed any light?

Salut,
France
http://www.eurotir22.com/
Euro Tir 22 is a shooting club in Bretagne actually run by a Yorkshireman therefore it is one of the most roastbeef friendly place I know of
Mark the owner is very friendly, very welkoming and extremely knowledgeable chap.
The place is fairly small, they shoot 25 to 100 meters, pistols and full bore-rifles. I shot by my own weapons there but I believe they have some club guns as well.
It's very easy to access, only 1 hour 1/2 drivefrom St Malo ferry terminal. The Bretagne region where I come from

is seriously beautifull. One can very easily make a nice familly week-end of it while packing a lot of shooting
You can also try the Czech Republic
http://www.avim.cz/
is a small club virtually in down-town Prague. They shoot mainly Glocks and CZ but other weapons are also available, ie : Ruger MKII in 22lr, Colt 1911 45 clones, Tokarev etc ... etc ... You will have to be supervised while shooting. George, the manager , can be a tad abrupt at first but is an absolutly top bloke and is very knowledgeable at IDPA shooting (International Defensive Pistol Association).
NK team will bespoke week-end shooting for you. They have contact with many open air/counrtry side ranges around Prague and can make you discover a very wide range of weapons beside pistols should you desire.
The site is in French but Lubos speaks very good English. He is an ex Czech para and then Legionaire . He is a 1st class bloke and will organise the entire week-end for you in an up-most professional maner

Hope this help .

This is something I'be been thinking about for a while but never got around to doing anything about it. I know there is a place in Belgium that the Sportsman's Association mentioned once -
http://www.coppensschietsport.com/Schie ... m%20GB.htm - anyone been there?

Many thanks folks, I have emailed Kells RPC as they are closest and shoot pistols. I don't think we are too bothered about semi & full auto. I'll let you all know how I get on.

After the ban I went shooting with Patriot Services near Dieppe. I got to shoot a .22Lr target pistol for an afternoon, however other diciplines were available.
The odd thing about the range was that there were a lot of pet rabbits there, as far as I could see, to keep the grass down. I don't think patriot services still exist, as there's no obvious website.
However, I have a friend on CentrefireUK who has gone out to Eastern Europe a bit in the past to shoot pistol, if you wish, I can ask him what arrangements were involved in this.
