Cleaning supplies

Hey,

Where does everyone get their cleaning supplies from? I'm needing some cleaning gear for 44 mag marlin and 10/22 ruger but can't really find anything apart from midway. I refuse to pay the prices at midway for anything after I last got stung for 10/22 mags!

Thanks
Scott

Scott, wouldn't worry too much about cleaning either of them too often :D

Locally I'd pop back over to Charlie's again as he has some good products in stock.

You need a few bits and pieces and I am going to Hannams before the end of the month so if you put together a list I'll pick it up for you.

Aiming for around 24th Nov. Look for Bore Snakes, Pro Shot rods and either KG1 cleaning products or just something like Butch's Bore Shine.

Save yourself some money and go the Ed's Red/ammonia route, see here:

For patch material look to paint and decorator suppliers if you have nothing suitable at home:

or

For the 22 you won't need the ammonia.

Good quality rods, jags and brushes are a must.

For lever actions and semi autos like the 10/22 a muzzle guide and a rod stop are a must when cleaning from the muzzle or you may want to consider a pull through system like the Otis:

For a rod guide for my 38/357 Marlin I use a 762 case with the base cut off. Insert the neck into the muzzle and it works!! and cheap too!!
If you need a case I have 0.5 cwt to pick from!!
