I've been using this system now for a few years and really rate it.

It hasn't replaced the cleaning rod totally when you feel the need to go at it with a brush but as most of my cleaning is done now with patches I find the pull through system works fine and is less cumbersome.

I was brought up on pull throughs so I'm very comfortable with this evolution of it.

Not the cheapest but after years of use I can testify to its durability.

I was given an Otis cleaning system in 7,62x51 for a birthday a few years ago, dismissed it on the spot and threw it in my range bag however it does get used more and more and I have quite warmed to the system. It will never replace the cleaning rod and workbench on a Sunday afternoon however for range use it is invaluable.

I have been using the small round "sniper" Mdl (5.56 & 7.62) and recently got the new IWCK multi calibers (5.56, 7.62, 9 & 11.45 Mm). It does contain on top of the Otix flexi rod a hard 4 parts one identical to the M16 USG issued rod. Everything you need but the down side is that it is much bigger .
Overall I am very happy with it and worth all the pennies

The only mildly annoying part is pushing the brushes back into the foam inserts after use.

+1 Ovenpaa and they dont hold/stay in the inserts very well ...

On the new Iwck the brushes fit very well in little plastic/rubber compartements and stay there secured no prob. But it adds some more weight that the foam.

The patches seemed a bit of an odd idea to me, so I just use flanelette. Also the small dvd that came with the kit didn't shed much light on what some of the bits are used for.

I find it really useful to take with me when I'm shooting and routinely use it to give the rifle a pull through before going out in the field.

Wouldn't be without it, and the pull throughs feel much more dependable than a bore snake.

Dromia, knowing your like of older more traditional gear, I really sat up and paid attention to you recommending this product.

I have seen it for sale often but not having seen it on the range, I decided that it probably fits in the Gimmick box.
I will consider it in future, especially as I am after some cleaning stuff for my 9mm,

I always puncture the tips of my fingers trying to fit those bloody bronze brushes back into the die-cut interior!

The mohair lens brush is pretty awesome and the other brass parts are very durable!

The secret is to flex the foam outwards to open the cut out, downside of this is the other brushes can then fall out. I always have to think about how to use the patches that come with it so I use oversize patches just pushed through the hole instead.

Big fan of the system too!

Keep one in my range bag whenever I am shooting

Started with the basic blister pack set - then added a few items to it - then got the aforementioned 556/762 sniper pack - now trying to add the IWCK set to my collection as that does 12-ga as well plus has a Gerber tool in the set
The letter packs pop up on Fleabay US quite a lot for not a lot of $$$ (at least, compared to RRP!!! )
