Swaging press

I am on the look out for a swaging press and a set of .45 dies. Apart from Nalan Swaging (who have been sitting on my order since Oct 2009) does anyone else make a swaging press in the UK? I am not even considering Corbin in the USA as he apparantly takes years to deliver. As it is, I have wasted two years with Nalan.

Or alternatively, does someone want to get rid of their swaging press?

No. This will be for my black powder Sharps. Paper patched.

Some years back I tried to swage 45 ACP lead SWC using a Wamadet press, their dies and lead bar.
I still use it for my 308s. I believe it was made by NDFS (North Devon Firearms Services,now no longer) but I believe Helston Gunsmiths MAY have taken all the 'bits' and patents etc. You could try them. 01326.573385 and ask to speak to Rommel.

A good "O" frame single stage press should do it with pure lead, I have used my Redding Ultra Mag successfully for swaging in the past but prefer cast now.

CH-4D in the states would be worth contacting for dies as both the Corbin outfits take for ever to fill their orders. The CH-4D dies are very good.

I have a Corbin swager and a set of 357 dies including the base guard kit which are excellent. Their prices are exorbitant now though.

I've got a Wamadet, fine presses indeed.

Another excellent example of when we used to make quality products in the UK, alas no more.

Just shows how the UK reloading market has declined when it can no longer sustain home grown products.

John, You could well be correct. I may make two phone calls later to check who may have anything - it's p***ing down here and not much to do!

My Wamadet has served me well for over thirty years.

If you can get one, do.

I still reload all my rifle calibres on it, sometimes on my lap in the lounge when it's too cold in the fettling shed.

I would't be without it.
