I can't find any of the 1970 posts?
Link please...

Could be my brain...slowly but surely turning into a zombie brain!

You've got them now ...

If you hover over them you will find a real date ... you need to update the dta field that holds the zero date (1st Jan 1970) to reflect the correct date and maybe link the post to the thread.

Almost at the bottom of the index page.....clear cookies.

Try that and let me know?
Christel,

Tried it but I'm afraid it hasn't worked.

Has anyone else got problems with staying logged in and if so which browser are you using?

This question is for all forum members apart from barney57!

Safari 5.1.1 (on Macintosh OSX) here - cleared board cookies but still can't stay logged in. Good luck, you're doing a grand job!

EDIT: Same in Firefox 5.0. Sorry!

Interestingly, if you go back to the old old server (two servers ago, back where the 10.00 am problems started) which is still up and running at this point in time, you'll find the same 1970 posts exist, so it does not appear to be a problem due to the restore/migration.

I don't think there will be a record with a zero date. What I think is happening is this:

The place where we see a 1970 date usually shows the date of the last post, so it would be found by a query for the posts with that topic id. There appear to be some orphaned posts which have an invalid topic id (and a post id of zero), so the query to find the last date will return empty. By looking up the topic title it appears that the actual topics that these orphaned posts relate to do exist, and they appear to be complete, so I suspect that these posts can be deleted without loss.

All appears OK here. Staying logged on. Bit slicker in use. Pretty sure this is Explorer 8, certainly not 9!!!!!
Thank you for improving for us.

Rox,

I am of the same opinion, that they can be deleted. I have seen it before and deleted them back then as well.

Thing is, deleting topics that does not exist in the abyss is no easy feat.
I shall do my best.

Polchraine,

Because the topics do not exist there is not much I can do about them, so I can't assign another date to them.

It probably needs to be done by editing the tables directly. Risky if you don't thoroughly understand the database structure and not necessarily easy if you don't have suitable tools and access. For now it's probably just as easy to leave them alone.

It does raise the point that the old old server is still there available and permitting posts - you might want to go and lock it now. Maybe In a few days go back and purge the data so it can't fall into the wrong hands.

One other possible issue with the new server is that email integration doesn't appear to be working (e.g. at signup/password request etc). I requested a password resend when I'd temporarily forgotten it and have not received an email.
