Shortening a Harris BR-S bipod

#1 Post by ovenpaa »

I have a Harris 9" BR-S bipod that is just a bit to tall for my needs so I was thinking of shortening it but leaving it functional, has anyone tried this before I run out to the shed with an angle grinder :goodjob:

In York guns the salesman told me it's possible to shorten the long harris bipod by knocking out the split pins and taking the last inch off. I had a gunsmith do this, and now the springs have been removed, and the legs extend when the catch on things in the folded position.
So not ideal in my situation.

Hi big O

What about making shorter replacement legs and keeping originals

You mean take the material off the top of the legs instead of the bottom DL?

That is one thing to consider, looking at the ones I have here I will have to do something about the springs that hold the legs out, find some shorter ones or do something with the existing ones.

No the area within the rubber boot. The model of mine had internal springs to keep it shut.
