I am off to shoot my first Trafalgar this coming weekend and amongst others I will be shooting the McQueen. Can anyone tell me if I can shoot the rifle rested and if so do I need to take my own sandbag?

There should be 3 sand bags available at the firing point for the mcqueen or you can use the Hawkins position.

You mean use the front sleeper as a support in the Hawkins position?

The Trafalgar task list says two filled sandbags at 200x for McQueen.

From my experience of working with Alan and his estate estate crew - they'll be there.

It doesn't tell him what to fill them with 'though

shot off your clenched fist using the front of the sling to anchor the rifle with the butt slightly recessed in the ground, takes a little practice to get right but very stable. the McQueen will be on century range not short Siberia so no sleepers I'm afraid.
