From the posted comments
This is accurate, having a trained gunman go into a class and he knows exactly who to shoot. Whoever believes this study is a idiot. The gunman would have no idea who or if anyone even has a gun. Then they go to say odds are you will die if you try to shoot back. Well odds are your going to be killed anyhow so why not fight to live. The only think they had right was the tunnel vision.
If you know who is armed then it makes sense to target them first. The whole point of Concealed Carry is nobody knows who is armed! ;)

As previously mentioned on this forum (and everywhere else on the internet) the piece is a pile of manure. The 'experiment' is designed specifically to produce failure, is rigged against the test subjects, and is unrealistic and unrepresentative. Countless real world examples and training scenarios disprove its conclusions.

I am reminded of a situation that happened to me. When my kids were younger we used to go up to Lancaster in the run up to Christmas; just to do some shopping and to amuse them during school holidays. Anyway we had stopped for lunch in a cafe on one of the shopping streets.

As I was sat there looking out of the window I saw an oldish woman (with the look of a 'bag lady' about her) cross the road with what looked like a real pump action shotgun under her arm! I did nothing!

When I analysed what had happened I thought that I should have called the police or something. If I think back now I was confused and shocked by seeing something so completely out of context with a day out shopping with the kids. I don't think there was any personal fear involved; the gun was being carried as baggage rather than to be used.

Now it might be that I imagined it all but it did seem to be a real firearm. If I add concealed carry to this situation I'm still not sure what I might have done. I would still have been confused, uncertain and by the time I had got my brain sorted out an incident might be all over.

I suppose a better quetion is

"Do those who do have the right to carry but do NOT place so little value on their life that they will not defend it to the death"?

As debated earlier the article is just an anti gun handwringers agenda that anyone with half a brain can see though.

I'd rather live in a dream world where we can carry a firearm than a nightmare one where we cannot.

GUN CONTROL IS THE HOPE THAT SOMEONE WHO HAS NO RESPECT FOR LAWS AGAINST RAPE, MURDER, ROBBERY WILL RESPECT THE LAW THAT SAYS HE CAN'T OWN A HANDGUN!

Those who do NOT carry or are DENIED (whichjh is WORSE) can easily live in a nightmare scenario because they do NOT decide when bad things will happen,

http://news.yahoo.com/8-killed-southern ... 51134.html

And the usual pathetic victim phrase they all spout out after such events;

It's a little disarming," (EHHH  !) she said. "This is such a quiet community. We don't expect things like this."

EXACTLY!!!! But for some reason the sheep and professional victims NEVER think of it that way. They assume that because they live in a "NICE" area or because they are "Quiet folks" they will be safe.

WRONG!

Not a dream world, though my renewel just arrived in the mail, $43.00 for another five years. A fee from the state I can't complain too much about.

Reminds me of the one about the Texas state trooper stopping the Redneck in the Truck.

The first thing the Redneck says to the Trooper is, "I'd better tell ya, I'm carrying". "Yeah OK, what have ya'll got?
"Colt .45 on ma hip".
"Anything else in the truck?"
"Shore, I got another .45 in the glove box, another under the seat, an AR15 & a Mossberg 12 gauge in the back."

"Sheet boy, what you frightened of?????

Red, "Nuttin Sir, absolutely nuttin!"
