I was looking at my Parker Hale rifles today and thought I would take a picture of them together. The bottom one is my TX1200 that I have had for over 25 years. I bought it from a friend and he had had it for around 20 years. It is single shot and has a 23 3/4 barrel and full ball bolt knob. The top one I bought last year. It is of the M82 style but not marked as such. The barrel is just marked with Parker Hale, Birmingham, England and 7.62 NATO. It has a conical bolt knob, a ramp safety catch and a 4 shot magazine. It has a 26 inch barrel. It came with an Edgar brothers 20x42 scope. It also came with the target sights and hand stop. The rear sight clamps onto the rear scope block. The stock is configured for the butt spacers but came with a solid 1 1/2 inch extension. There is a metal plate inlet into the end of the butt that 2 bolts screw into to hold the pad and extension in place. Oddly, the barrel markings on the top one read from breech to muzzle but the TX1200 markings read from muzzle to breech. They both shoot well and I enjoy shooting them. Regards

A target I shot with the top rifle recently. I didn't have a solid position to start with and the cross hair was jiggling about for the first 3 or 4 shots. Once I got a stable position it shot OK. The target is the HBSA 20 yard pistol target, 10 shots at 100 yards with my reloads. The dotted line is an inch. Regards

Bit of a fan of the PH rifles myself

My .270, .243, and .222 sporting rifles are Parker Hales. My .303 sporting rifle is a Parker Hale No4 conversion.

Over the decades they have taken a surfeit of game and vermin and still going strong, currently been doing a lot of long range (200yrd) wabbit slaughtering with the .222".

We started in 2007 with a scoped TX 1200 (Spanish Mauser action?). Had some good results with it out to 1000yds.....excellent rifle.
I think it may have had a Brindles trigger.

We had a beautiful TX1200 at the club and it was used for many years when we were able to go to Tiddesley Wood range. Then the Army decided that we weren't going to be allowed to use the range anymore and we stopped going.
One day one of the lads asked if he could use it to go to another range and was allowed to take it out but was told that he had to clean it before putting it back in the cabinet.
It rained over the next few days and nothing was thought about the rifle and we all thought it would be safe enough.........Many months later and a group of us went down to the range to give all the rifles a good clean as usual. When it came to the TX1200 I had a look and was absolutely stunned to see that the barrel was rusty and the bore was completely rusty for the last eight or so inches at the muzzle and after cleaning the rust out found that the bore had pitted very badly.
Caused a bit of a row in the club as the culprit absolutely denied not drying or oiling it even though the outside was rusted as well.
Couldn't even get scrap value for it now.

Ours went to auction.....I think it made £40.
