Hi folks,

My FAC renewal is at the end of the year and I obviously need to get a medical form completed.
Being a mean bugger I did a Google search and found quite a few offering their services.
May I ask the current thoughts on any of these please.
Thank you

My GP charged me £40. I can access the medical form on my Medical record and down load it and print it.

I've used Medcert - speed up the process by sending them your NHS medical records with your application. NHS must provide your records on request within 30 days. Obviously try your GP first. Mine charged £30.

My GP charged £75 so double check your prices with your GP!

I used Shootcert for my renewal. Much much smoother than when my missus did her SGC grant through Medcert. Shootcert is a few quid more but worth it in my opinion. Updates at every stage of a the process, even small ones like the GP had acknowledged receipt of request for records. Medcert didn't even know they had received the records from the GP for 8 weeks until we chased them and pressured them to look into it. I know this may be a one off but that's my experience with them.

Would certainly recommend checking your GP first if you haven't already. Mine was £18 and only took a couple of days.

If you have access to your medical records that will speed things up with the private companies but if not any delay you would have experienced with your GP will be replicated with the private company as they will have to wait for them as well.
