Now, I have been told that we can move the forum to another host and very likely get free hosting however it comes with a price.

We can't take the posts with us and there will be ads.

I have already decided against it as it is not really what this forum is about.

Agreed, losing the posts would be a shame and possibly kill the forum off completely. I have no issues with banner ads as done on Stalking Directory etc if they help pay the fees assuming we have enough traffic to make them worth their while.
