Quick fix for snapped RCBS and Lyman de-capping pins

#1 Post by Mauserbill »

Hello
I snapped my last RCBS de-capping pin in my sizing die and could not find replacements, other than Brownells and USA at ridiculous costs.
I found that by utilizing a 1.7mm rivet after removing the aluminium compressible top part it left me with the perfect pin
Dress the round head so that it fits snugly in the decapping holder, cut to length and hey presto "As many as you need"

I've done something similar with panel pins in the past.

lol I had a nightmare trying to find a replacement when I broke mine, ended up making one out of a picture frame hook nail.
Still haven’t put that picture back up 🤣
