IDENTIFY THIS BULLET?

I've inherited a job lot of reloading stuff. I have a few packs of these lead bullets and no idea who makes them. Hoping someone will recognize them.
They are .45 calibre and weigh in at 265 grains. As can be seen in the pictures they have a hollow skirt, like an air rifle pellet. It doesn't show up well in the picture but they are coated in some kind of silver lube. Anyone know the manufacturer?

These look like .455 Webley bullets. As used in the WW1 service revolvers. Probably are Silvalube from Mountain and Sowden

If they are about .45 inch diameter they are for the .455 Webley. Should be about 265 gr.

Aye for the .455 Webley and they were rubbish as well as far as I recall, as usual far too bloody hard and undersized!

They measure exactly .450"
The chap that owned them was into gallery rifle shooting and had a Marlin in .45 Colt. But that may just be coincidence.
Loading data for .45 Colt gives the diameter as .451" so it's technically minutely undersized - but I suppose if the skirt blows out a little it could work.

Not sure what to do with them, really - beyond melting them down for recasting in gallery rifle bullet moulds.
Is there much call for this type of bullet?

I think they would be a bit of a tight fit in a .38 spec. :D

I thought of a lot of replies to that but decided perhaps I'd better not post them for fear of lowering the tone.... :p
But thanks for the smiley face, I've now found how to add them!
