Most accurate .22 bolt action 5/10 round mag rifle

I bought a cz 457 and am very happy with it but the cz 452 and 455 are just as good and a lot better value. That said a friend has a tikka t1x ( I think that’s the name). And that shoots really well also and has a better trigger and if 10 round mags are important that one stays fairly flush with the rifle compared to the 10 rounders for the cz.

Another vote for a CZ457 LRP! I've recently purchased one, combined with a Vortex Strike Eagle 4-25x56 scope and it's made for a very enjoyable trainer.

This weekend, at the Long Range Rimfire Club Championship meeting at Bisley, shooting .22lr at 200 and 300 yards, with 50 odd competitors, it's interesting to note that the highest aggregate score was shot with a CZ.
There were a good few CZ's or rifles using CZ actions with different barrels but also Walthers, Anschutz, Voodoo, Grunig & Elmiger, Tikka, Kongsburg etc.

I have a 54 Anshutz which is vaccurate out to 300 yards (soon to be magazine fed )
We build a Chassis for the 457 lrp which is as capable as the 54 (i have one as a demo)
We also build for the B14R Begara which is very popular (rem 700 footprint )
In the cabinet is a heavy barrel 455 almost up to 457 standard
and a light barreled 452 again more than capable at 100 yards
so dependant on budget a 455 heavy barrel or a 457 would be my choice

Isn't there also a CZ .22lr with a set trigger?.. 453? I have a CZ set trigger on my .223 527 that works well.

Yes the 453 has a set trigger.

It works as a normal trigger (adjustable for travel, weight etc), but if you want to use it as a set trigger you just push it forwards.

The set trigger is adjustable for weight as well. I love mine.

I picked up a CZ 452 Lux left hand and I am blown away by the accuracy of the rifle. I think this model is discontinued now which is a shame because it looks good and shoots even better. I have both 5 and 10 round magazines for it.



My father left me his Marlin .22 magnum rifle when he passed away. It has great accuracy and reaches to 200 yards with no problem.

I've had his Anschutz 1416 since I was a 2nd Lieutenant stationed in Germany in 1979. I think I paid $125 U.S. for it at the Kaserne rod and gun club which works out to $529 today or 421 pounds. A pretty good deal. The double set trigger takes some management to get the best out of the rifle. With the right ammunition it is superb.

That's my idea of a nice rifle, accurate, reliable and a touch of class, the Match 64 action is hard to beat. (Unless maybe a good M54) I'm not really a fan of the current "Tacticool" fashion unless they can prove a definite accuracy advantage.

My .22" WMR is a BRNO and a fine rifle it is too.

However when it comes to rim fires my calibre of choice is the .17" HMR, stunningly accurate from my LH Savage when plenty of reach out beyond 150 yrs and hard hitting, as they say speed kills.

Starting in the spring when the rabbits start breeding and encroaching on to my vegetable field I start with the .22" RF and then work out through the calibres .22" WMR, .17" HMR, .17" Hornet and .204" Ruger as the bunnies get wise and keep out of range I just take a calibre with longer legs and keep dropping them out to beyond 250 yrds. I also take out my .22" Hornet and .218" Bee just to ring the changes.

Over 80% of my wabbit kills are taken with rimfires.

If I could only have one rimfire calibre it would be the .17" HMR. This round would be far more popular if most small bore indoor range certificates would allow for its use.
