Hi All from London

#1 Post by Sky888 »

Hi Full-Bore community

I'm Tim from East London. FAC holder and just at the end of my renewal process, waiting for them to send out my new certificates!

I am a target shooter, happy to shoot any discipline, practical, to gallery to long range. During my renewal interview I asked for new additions as per the normal process that people do. FEO was happy and confident I would get them... However the next day he calls me back to apologise saying the Sgt said 'No' on the grounds he thinks I have to many already.

So I've sold some stuff already to make space for new toys, just waiting on the new certificates. I do reload as well for cost cutting on the pistol calibres and for accuracy on full bore.

Currently shoot at my home club in Roding with access to Andrews Field. Also NRA at Bisley, HTRPC at Cambridge, WHPRC at Lydd and any other ranges I can access.

All the best

Tim :good:

Too many.! What is this nonsense..?

That's not a valid reason if you could justify what you were asking for in the first place.

Yes, if you currently do not have enough safe storage capacity, but other than that, unless your FL dept have one of those 'maximum 12 without a monitored burglar alarm' rules (another add-hoc piece of rubbish) then I'd kick back and ask for a proper explanation.

Yup, I have one of those maximum of 12 conditions. I have 13 but nothing was said at my last renewal. :p

Yeah, they tried that with me a few years ago - showed them my alarm system and documentation and storage set up - jaw dropped, they haven't tried that again ;)

I'm not against tight regulations, but they must be consistent. Most FL Dept are operating so far outside the HO Guidance these days that it creates animosity, which is a real shame as we should be working together to make this a much more mainstream sport rather than 'p*** off' certficate holders.
