Hello from Ipswich

Thanks for admitting me.

I am new to club shooting. When I was a kid I was in the cadets (.22 and .303 Lee Enfields and Bren). Later I was in the TA, in the Artillery, where I was a gun layer on 25pdr field guns. This was around the time of the Falklands. My personal small arm was an SLR. Also fired GPMG, Browning automatic, Sterling SMG and Carl Gustav 84mm anti-tank.

I did some probationary club shooting just before covid stopped all that. I am now with a different club, which my partner and I are joining. We are about to start our safety training.

I am especially interested in older guns and want to get into muzzle loading and percussion based guns.

I am from the West Country but I live in Ipswich.

Thank you All very much for the welcome.

1066, that is a surprising collection of muzzle loaders. I had wondered if modern designed guns had been made which took powder and ball and now you have answered the question. Is it because they take so long to load that the authorities do not regard them as a threat? And is there any danger that they will crack down on pistols which might appear to be an attempt to get round the rules? By the way, I admired your loading system, seen on a different thread.

Hi Rookandrabbit. Those are just the weapons all of us came across back then. But I am glad I had the chance to experience them all.
