Henry carbine as a gallery rifle

Hello,
I'm thinking of looking for a Henry carbine (16 1/2") barrel version in 357 Mag to use as a gallery gun. Does anyone have any experience of running one of these in competition. I know that they are drilled and tapped to receive scope mounts.

Looking for real world feedback please on how they perform.

Would they keep up with the Marlins in terms of ease of reloading, working the action, etc.

Thanks

Sean

I assume thats one of the new side loading ones..?? the original "end of tube" ones will be tricky for a speedy reload..!!

Thats good then.. :-) All I know of Henrys is that my son has one, (old style "end of tube" one, but he doesn't shoot GR).

They seem smooth and well made, but from what my son has said, can be a pain to take apart. I tried to persuade him to buy a Marlin, but he liked the look of the Henry.

Does it have to be a Henry? The Marlins have more after market parts for upgrading from Ranger Point Precision. I changed the trigger and loading gate on mine and it's sooooo much easier to insert the rounds! The light trigger pull is just blissful! Have a look on their website.
