A 155g Sierra is not some thing I would use in a 6.5x55. I will be using 6.5 139g Lapua Scenars or 120g Hornady A max bullets with Vitavouri N150 or may be N160 or N555 is the Leupold MK4 an old scope I can not find any for sale in the UK.

Not a lot in it for getting in the ball park.
A 139 Scenar with a BC of .7 and 2,700fps with a 100yd zero will need around 30MOA to get to 1,000yds and 40moa for 1,200yds. (Have you thought about the 140 or 142 Sierra MK's? They shoot very well in my 6.5-284?)

Can't really comment on the Leupold scopes, I've never owned one. Uttings do a fair range of them I believe.

I have no experience with the 140 or 142 Sierra MK,s I might try them in the future. The barrel is being throated for the 139grain Scenar so I will be starting with that set up. The 139grain Scenar works well in my
6.5 Creedmoor so I have no reason to believe at the distances I am shooting that it wont work in the 6.5x55. It also helps that I have a healthy stock of the 139g Scenars.

Out of interest I looked at the Vitavouri data for the 140grain and 144grain bullets.
The 140grain recommended cartridge over all length is 3.150"
The 144grain recommended cartridge over all length is 3.110"

The 139grain Scenar recommended cartridge over all length is 3.071"

The maximum cartridge over all length with the 139g Scenar jammed in the rifling I can achieve is 2.980". I had to use a cleaning rod to knock the bullet out after measuring the over all length.

I am still looking at Scope options.

I settled on the Sightron SIII 8-32x56 SFP LR Zero Stop MOA Non IR Rifle Scope. Unfortunately I can not find any one who has one in stock in the UK.
Back to the drawing board.

That is the scope I have on my 6.5. I've had it for a few years and very pleased with it.
I bought it direct from USA for around £200 below UK price.
