I was talking to someone at the F Class shoot at Diggle this weekend who owns a Unicorn :-P who had heard that there is a variant of the 1911 long barrel pistol under development with a similar lever release mechanism assumed to be either 9mm or 45ACP.
Dunno how much truth there is in it but it sound like it could be fun.

I'll try to ignore the use ofthat blasphomous term
A lever-release 1911 would be awesome, especially if the lever could be placed where the safety catch normally sits. It would take quite a bit of miniturisation though. Did the rumour mill say who was planning/making it?

Not fired a 1911 but wouldn't a Beretta 92 be a good start? The slide release is right on your thumb. Or are they all like that, I know chuff all about pistols. (Too young tongueout )
