Do we have any Range conducting officers on here who are High Muzzle Velocity certified. If so do you have any experience of zeroing on a Ministry of Defence range.(MOD) If you have what do you need to do regarding letting the MOD know you are intending to carry out the zeroing process.

NRA Handbook is your friend. 2021 edition (freely available on the NRA website under Publications/NRA Handbooks), page 122 para 3a.

I have a copy of the handbook and the procedure. My question was what do you need to do regarding letting the MOD know you are intending to carry out the zeroing process.

Your HME qualified RCO must note in the range log as he signs on that HME rifles are to be used, you do not need an HME qualification to shoot though, just the zeroing process.

For someone with no experience of HME firearms (biggest I shoot is 7.62x51) is there a specific zeroing process that differs from a normal rifle?

Yes the zeroing procedure is different for high muzzle energy firearms.

You do need an HME endorsement on your SCC. NRA Handbook page 122 para 2.

This is so he can get HME added to his card. He all ready has HME on a scc card from another Club.

The NRA view is that SCC endorsements are personal to the holder and transferable, unless the club invited to accept does not.
