Praise for Surrey Police Firearms Licensing

Yet again Surrey Firearms Licensing Dept., have given a most excellent service.
A "one off, one on" variation dealt with within 5 days, including a weekend.
Now I can go and pick up my new toy..........

I can beat that!!!
Put in variation for an extra .308 rifle on tuesday lunchtime, was on the doorstep friday morning.
Not Surrey, but Northumbria.

I have called in and had 1:1's issued whilst I waited and even had them delivered by hand in the past with Bedfordshire. Beds/Herts merged earlier this year and they did have a few teething problems initially however they seem to be back on the case now. Christel needs to submit a 1:1 very shortly and it will be interesting to see how they deal with it.

The acid test...what we need to monitor is the turn-around of tickets
post 4/11 budget cuts.
My renewal occured a month
after expiry (no queries) given 5 months full notice ie all forms filled in etc and sent.

Posted mine to Surrey yesterday for a 9 mm variation, as already mentioned I normally get it back within 7 days.
Looking forward to pay day this month!

Yes.....a No4(T)....almost....it is a very good "recreation" of a No4T, refurbished action, new barrel, new woodwork, Roger Payne mounts and an Italian made Mk1 No32 scope dated 1951. The Italians purchase thousands of No4s at the end of WW2 and also bought the plans and patterns to manufacture the No32 scope.
The scope is not properly zeroed yet, the previous owner appears to have used it only at 500 yards and has set the reticule to the middle postion.....I have been lent an adjusting tool and have been given advice on how to do it (thanks Ovenpaa) but family matters have rather taken over of late so I have not had range time enough to do it yet.

That sounds nice, any pictures? I have heard of the Italian made 'scopes but never seen one so I would be very interested in that side of things.
