In less than 2 weeks, the GB target rifle team leaves to compete in the World Championships of Long Range shooting in Brisbane Australia, which culminates in the famous Palma match for the World Team championship. To send the requisite team of 26 to compete in these championships costs a significant amount of money: our budget runs to £130,000 or £5,000 per head. Team members have had to find the vast bulk of this themselves.

I believe that a world championship team should take the best people available for the job, and therefore the selection policy should be “needs blind” as much as possible.

To achieve this, we need to raise funds to defray expenses. This is where you can help.

The cost of the whole tour divided by the number of shots required to complete it is about £10. You can sponsor a shot by texting TEAMGB10 to 70777 (from a UK Mobile phone)

In return you will receive the result of the Palma match via text as soon as possible after the result is known, and be amongst the first to know whether we have been successful in retaining the World Championship.

Who knows? Your shot may be the one that helps win the trophy. Why not do it right away? As marksmen, we all know that a quick shot release often delivers the best results. That way, the shot you sponsor will be a central bull’s-eye!
