brno zkm 468

#1 Post by Dave 101 »

I went to the range this morning with the 468 to shoot some 5 shot groups using the weighed batched RWS GECO The weight varies from 3,25 grams to 3.30 grams , I was using 3.25 and 3.28 also some Eley subsonic HP with this , the groups opened up , fouling shots were fired between makes of ammo .

The CZ targets I have put black dots in to show the holes more clearly .

The set up was seated at the bench usng a front sandbag only .
The rifle is the BRNO ZKM 468 with a Weaver 4x mag scope , not that I can see more than the square of red with it , there is a 1" circle drawn on each one .

All the groups look pretty consistent, apart from no 7. Eley Subsonic.

Does subsonic do that? Fly high?

My wee CZ452 plops tenex subs in the same ragged hole at 50...needed a trigger job that's all.

I like that 'scope Dave, very nice, in fact a very handy rifle by the look of it. :good:

Rob, so when you change ammo to non subs, do they fly lower?

Higher all other things being equal...at 50.

Tenex do about 1080fps, stingers about 1500 from memory.

Mix in a few stingers to raise some eyebrows.

Edit...no...not sure about them being higher...been a while since we were allowed to shoot supersonic on our range.

Yes indeed a nice scope, I do like and have a few of those low power Weavers, is it a steel tube?

Can I suggest you try the CCI sub-sonic segmented 22LR. I did some trials with my CZ452 and it produced by far the tightest groups at 50 yards.
