Peeps

Having settled on using 200 grain Sierra Matchkings a while ago as my load for my .308 rifle that I am using in the GB F-class league, I purchased a box of 500 and have just been dipping my hand the box.

In preperation of loading 100 rounds for next weekends foray up to Diggle and trying to eliminate as many variables to performance as possible  I decided that I'd weigh each remaining one and sort them into different containers

results being

251 @ 200.0 gns
75 @ 200.2 gns
22 @ 199.8 gns
1 @ 199.2 gns!!

Now in real terms I'm not sure how much real difference it would make but I guess over a 1000 yards every little bit helps!

Now I just need to sort the "nut behind the butt" and I'm golden :good:

Im guessing Alan they will make a lot of difference if nothing else you will have confidence in them as you know youve produced quality ammo. And also they will help with the veticalsas well

Hi Spud

I think you hit the nail on the head regarding the confidence thing :good:

I am happy that my rifle is shooting well and the load is as good as I can make it, the rest is down to me learning the wind reading bit!!

Aye, and purge your cases with pure O2 just before charging then quickly seat the bullet so you get better burn performance. :good:
