I hope the Marlin QC doesn't take a dive like it did when Remington took 'em over.

I’ve heard they’re buying the company. That’s actually really good news to my mind!

The company has been split up and sold off to 7 other companies. Vista Outdoor have bought the ammunition business and certain intellectual property rights which probably will include the brand name.
There was a good reasons why Remington screwed up Marlin and that was relocating production to new facilities and not relocating the existing experienced workforce. A demotivated work force isn't going to produce quality guns knowing they are shortly going to be out of a job.

It wasn't particularly clear in the article who gets the actual Remington firearms business. Or is that part of the "non-Marlin firearms business"?

I imagine "Remington" will still exist. Can't see "Big Green" and the 700 fading away just quite yet...

Roundhill Group LLC for its non-Marlin firearms business
Sierra Bullets LLC for its Barnes ammunitions business
Sturm, Ruger, & Co. for its Marlin firearms business
JJE Capital Holdings LLC for DPMS, H&R, Stormlake, AAC and Parker brands
Franklin Armory Holdings Inc. for Bushmaster brand and some related assets
Sportsman’s Warehouse Inc. for Tapco brands
I read that as Roundhill Group get Remington firearm business but not the Marlin bits and all the others have just bought the other brand names.

From what I have read elsewhere its not a done deal none of Remington has actually been sold yet, these are just the preferred bidders to buy the various sections out of liquidation. It could well change and the alternative bidders may become the eventual owners.
