Does anyone reload blanks for 12 bore ?
Mate asked me the other day if i could load some for a re enactment morter. At the moment he is buying the short shotgun mine ones AND PAYING OVER A POUND A POP .

So what do you or would you use to provide smoke and bang

Yes that should work. I usually use black powder and a card wad with water glass glue. I cut the cases short as the full case capacity is not needed.

I would crimp close the cases so there's nothing that can be determined to be a 'projectile'

I know one re-enacter that uses fibre wad 12ga cartridges and cuts the shot off - wad is shredded by the wad-shredder in the bore that also stops full 12ga being inserted.

They should have a limiter in to stop full length cartridges being used by mistake.
