Boyd's stocks

Now that Boyds are shipping to the UK again here is an idle thought.
I sort of fancy ordering a stock from them.
If 2 or 3 or 4 of us got together - say Bisley centric area - placed an order for several stocks delivered to one address.
We would presumably save a bit of money by sharing the costs?

Brilliant suggestion, bit late, wish I'd thought of it.
I ordered one yesterday.

I'd probably be up for that. I'm 'Bisley centric' (or possibly even closer to you).
I quick look at Boyds shows the shipping costs drop significantly - For 1 stock it's $86, but for 5 only $142 ($28 each). We'd only get hit for one Parcelfarce handling charge as well.
A recent post gave the following costs for a single Boyds stock:
Stock - $204 (£162)
Shipping - $91 (£72)
Import Duty - £5
VAT - £37
Handling Fee - £12
The VAT is payable on the shipping too, so that brings the cost per stock down too.

Sounds like the start of a plan!
Lets tout it around a few "closer" shooting buddies and see if we can get a couple more on board.

Great idea! The above list of pricing is mine and although £300 total is still significantly cheaper than UK prices, it still stings a bit that it is more or less double the cost of the stock!

Be aware:
For "gifts" £135-£630 a basic 2.5% Duty is levied. For gifts over £630 or purchases over £135 the duty will be at the appropriate tariff and on some items that can be a lot higher or others it may be zero.

Why not find an RFD who will work with you and import a batch ?
I think right now RFD's need our support more than ever .

RFDs may need support, however, if a group of people know what they want and can order direct, why involve another party? An RFD will need to add his costs on - and suddenly the price increases.

Sportsmans Gun Center import them.
They don't carry the particular version I'm after. Nearest one they have is £323.
