Does anyone shoot F-Class for Rimfire. If so what are your set ups?

F-Class rim-fire? I did not know such a thing existed, although I have come across long range rim-fire which is shot at anything up to 500 yards and typically involves a rim-fire of your choice, plus a scope and 75MOA rail. Favourites seem to be old Internationals and a variety of Anschütz rifles although any accurate rifle should get the job done.

I have never heard of rimfire F class.

I received an email from my Club Secretary about our thoughts etc. It came from our County shooting people (CTSA). I thought id put it out there to see if there was an interest in such a thing.

Long range rimfire is very challenging!

I was out shooting 100 yards rim-fire, open sights today with the BSA and it is truly challenging in a breeze. Next goal is 200 yards.

Pre-1939 open sights .22 bench rest anyone?

You see the long range Rimfire in the states a fair bit.

Ovenpaa....How was the results at 100 yard?

Last time I was out with my Enfield No8, No4 style sights I put 150 hand loads into a 4" horizontal 2" vertical group of a bag, there was wind left to right hence the horizontal spread. An Eley Match group is usually a bit tighter vertically as when hand loading getting the priming compound wieght consistent is challenging so more velocity variation and therefore greater vertical spread.

There is nothing wrong with the .22 RF at long range with consistent ammunition and a known distance, like all outdoor shooting it is all about reading the wind.

Thumbnail groups with Eley club at 100 in the M54S-430 tube rifle off a bipod and yesterday, palm sized groups with the mighty BSA model 12 and open sights which is OK for a 100 year old rifle off my elbows and a squeeze bag. Anything remotely long distance with an old .22 is my favoured sport right now.
