Yeah, I am still working too. The good thing from my side is that I am not operating on so little sleep as is normally the case.

I have a nasty sciatica issue that keeps me up late at night until the painkillers finally kick-in. This can be anywhere from midnight to 5:00 am, depending upon the severity. I normally have to get up for work at 6:15 am, so some days I am operating on very little sleep indeed. Now on lock-down and working from home, so long as I get the work done that I am required to do, the actual time on the clock really doesn't matter. I am finally getting the sleep I should be getting. So I will not be complaining too much about lock-down.

no work or rather no parts to finish the work .
so keeping an eye on mum (she is 95 ) its me or a carer
cleaned brass i dont even shoot
going through brass i picked up last year
gardening planting some seeds
sorting out the gunroom
sorting out of date useless paperwork

reckon i can go another 3 weeks then wall climbing begins

Pretty hard going doing a business plan when you don't know what state the market will be in when this is over - and if suppliers and buyers will still be around..

Just want to share this, my non work pc was slowly grinding to a halt, it got to the stage where it would just sit there trying to connect to gmail.

It was effectively bought with Win7 on it (that old) now running Win10. 4gig of ram, who runs 4gig of ram these days, well I did.

Loads of updates over the years, Win and FF updates, it was bloated.

So...as we had an extra 4gig in the house we backed everything up, downed the machine, swapped the two around, and installed Linux.

Game changer. New life to old machine.

I do not need Win for non work stuff so I am really pleased.

If you really wanted to, you could create a virtual machine which can emulate Windows. I've successfully run Ubunto, Windows XP and Windows 7 using "Virtual Box" on my 12 year old MacBook laptop. I was able to run QuickLoad on both the Windows OS's, Ubuntu was mostly just for curiosity.

I've never tried emulating an Windows OS using Linux. Might be worth a Google!

Wine is the answer, it enables you to run window programs on a Linux distro.

I do not need the programs so I do not use Wine.

If need be - example - Excel file - can be opened on a Linux distro without problems.

Open Office does it flawlessly - only problem might be when you send the program back to a Windows box, some of the formatting might change.

As I am running Sage/Excel for work I need a Windows box -when I retire out goes the Windows box and it will all be Linux.

Just for info...GIMP is one of the best graphics editors out there, all Linux.
