We were into Adventure 'bikes and 1000 mile days before it was fashionable, every time a small jiffy bag arrived from Touratech Christel would ask "Another 180 pounds?" It was the same sort of thing with Sinclair that drove me to building my own reloading kit and the rest, as they say, is history.

Shoppe "She asked me why everything for a rally car cost £50 plus vat?" signfunnypost lol lol lol

Same with shooting eh, although Mrs T would actually encourage me to buy guns etc. Bless her wee cotton socks.

(Just waiting for 25pdr to pop up and day "AYE cos she could shoot better than you lol lol - But that was cos I taught her wel! ")

Dearest gun I owned has was my AE Police ex scope.. and just for fun.

It's true though, in motorsport there's no substitute fo rhorse power, skill and MONEY............. BUCKET LOADS of money!

No matter how much you have though, you'll never really compete with factory cars and their massive resources. Even buying an ex works car is buying old technology.

Good thing though is that even with a very small budget (and a tight assed sponsor for the manta initiially) we still had load sof fun and tons of memories.

Biggest regret is that those wee action cam thingies were not avaiable back then: our antics and in-car chat on stages would have made a great comedy show.

Still, some nice folks shot video and I obtained copies - so not too bad considering. "Better to be sat in looking out than stood out looking in" eh cheers cheers cheers

that is a wee regret we have that we did not have an in car camera, the money was spent on other things for the car.

Yes. torque does punch you out of the corners But the secret is carrying the speed through the corner.
That was something we were known for .

Nope, it helps but if you're a crappy driver then it's not much good at all. There's a number of factors involved e.g car control, reliability: old saying "To finish first, first you have to finish".

Also rallying is not racing: two different sports.
