Dear All,

I do not wish to open a full debate on the issues regarding GGG 2019 (Imperial 155gr) batch, as this has been covered elsewhere on the net and in great, adn often heated detail.

What I am wanting to ask and gauge is what alternatives to GGG 19 TR Shooters are proposing to use this year until the GGG 20 is finally here, tested and approved.

Personally I do not wish to "risk" my TR rifle with this stuff, cheap as it is. For those not in the know it is being sold off by the NRA and purchasers have to agree to a disclaimer against any damage to their rifles.

Aside from trawling every Gun Shop in the country to see if there is any earlier GGG around - most seem to have 19 and are unaware of the issues, and not breaking the bank on other factory loads, the only reasonable option seems to be on offer from HPS.

If anyone has any other ideas, I would be delighted to hear them. I am after good 155gr TR ammunition for Comps this year and not general practise.

The obvious solution would be to load your own. But has you don,t want to do that you are between a rock and a hard place. Any other ammo is going to be expensive.

It's a tough one. I'm not sure whether Fulton's are still producing ammo, or whether HPS is still available from the NSRA shop. People are using Rylands increasingly, but you'd have to arrange a time to meet and collect.

You should have at most 2 months to survive until 2020 GGG is available.

Are you absolutely not interested in handloading for some reason? I used to be, but haven't looked back since I started, and now I shoot far far more (a couple of times a week, usually) and as a consequence I win more than my fair share of Open meetings; I wouldn't dream of using factory unless I'm obliged to.

I took the decision to focus more on TR for this year and to ascertain/justify if I should upgrade my TR equipment.

Reloading is not an option for a number of reasons, though I may consider exploring this avenue in the future if this years TR pans out as I would hope and like it to.

It looks like a trip tp HPS might be the best solution to my needs, until such time as the GGG 20 lands and is available.
