Anyone experienced Light Strike on their RPR..? It's not reliable on NATO ball ammo, & hand loads.
It's a .308, 20" barrel model. Bought second hand, and I've only shot a couple of dozen rounds....
I've signed up for the Ruger Recall, don't know how long it'll take to get the replacent bolt shroud.

My. 308 RPR Gen 2 ltd edition with 24" barrel doesn't like cheap 7.62x51 MEN with plenty of light strikes. GGG Nato spec 7.62x51 goes bang every time.
I got the replacement bolt shroud before I started shooting it.
The cheap MEN surplus is optimised for use in a belt fed MG3 machine gun so will have thick primers. The GGG is fine in the rifle and better stuff anyway. As for your reloads check your primer seating is my view on the matter.

I have an RPR gen 1 in 6.5 Creedmoor and as mentioned above I too replaced the bolt shroud before I started shooting it (with a Ti version) and have not experienced any problems. Not sure if that helps or not?
