I've just purchased my first LBP a GSG Firefly. So far I'm loving it but how often should I clean/lubricate the GSG>?

That often, it makes sense as it uses the powder to blowback.

do you rod the barrel clean everything and re oil every time?

I've put around 2000 rounds through mine without cleaning it or oiling it.

Figured I'd see how long it would go on for, Although it will see a cleaning rag soon.

Used a mixture of mini mag and blazer to no Ill effect.

I shot my K22 for a year before it needed cleaning, about 3K rounds.
Now I clean it about every 3rd or 4th range visit, just so I can smell the ballistol when I open the cabinet.

I started off shooting magtech through it and it jammed it right up.. even the bullets felt greasy.. in my head I was like crap the bad reviews were right they just jam up.. untill I switched to federal American eagle and it seemed to sort it out with the occasional jam.

That why I was thinking give it a solid clean and re oil.

Sure, from my own experience not a single fail to fire or feed using over 2000 rounds of blazer or mini mag.

I go by, Why fix something that isn't broken.

2000 and it’s been faultless fair play that’s awesome. Do you own A gsg firefly or the 1911?
I’m down the range tomorrow so I’ll put a few through it and play it by ear.

No, i don't really touch any of my .22's barrels, other than a couple of swipes with a Bore Snake to get any big bits out.

I use mine for competition shooting so every jam/misfeed is a serious problem. I'm sure it would 'work' over many hundreds, if not thousands of rounds but not to competition standard of reliabilty. There's no sense taking a chance when they're fairly easy and quick to clean.
