Can anyone give me any clues on how to establish a manufacture date of my Winchester P14.

I think the date is on the barrel just forward of where it is screwed into the receiver, assuming the original barrel wasn't changed if/when the rifle was refurb'd

The barrel should have the year of manufacture which is a reasonable indication unless it has been swapped out at some point.

EDIT - You beat me to it :)

It is going to be 1917 latest as I have a feeling Winchester stopped in this year.

P14 Mk 1 (E) Made by Eddystone from 1915-16 parts often marked ERA

P14 Mk 1(R) Made by Remington-UMC parts often marked RA

P14 Mk 1 (W) Made by Winchester parts are simply marked W

P14 Mk 1* (E) Applys to Eddystone rifles made in 1916 and parts are marked ERA, If it has the additional F suffix it is fitted with a fine sight

P14 Mk 1* (R) as above made in 1917 and may have a fine sight if it has the F suffix

P14 Mk 1* (W) as above made in 1916 and may have a fine sight F suffix

P14 Mk 1 (W) T made from April 11th 1918 these are the official British Army sniper version with an Aldis scope fitted

From 1926 the rifle became known as the No3 Mk1and distinction between manufacturers was dropped

On the left hand side at the front of the receiver also on the barrel (same area just in front of receiver) all you will probably see is the last two numbers of the year of manufacture, on mine ‘16’ yours will possibly be the same year.
Should be visible just above the woodwork.
